Our business started out when my Dad (Ervin Grulke) started working for Mr.Krueger at Krueger Hardware (108 N. Third Street, Rogers City, MI 49779) in the 1930s. He started out as a clerk waiting on people. As time went on he started to learn to fix all kinds of things, like toasters, coffee makers, lawn mowers, snow throwers, etc. He even became a Maytag lonely repair man.

Dad and Mom (Elaine) purchased Krueger Hardware when Mr. Krueger decided to retire in 1970. Krueger Hardware now became Grulke Hardware. Shortly after, new ownership had to make a move due to Urban Renewel. In 1973, Grulke Hardware moved down a few blocks and relocated at 297 N. Third Street and is still there today.

As time passed, the youngest of seven children, Neil Grulke, decided to stay working there instead of moving onto different paths in life. In 2002, Neil Grulke and son Andy purchased Grulke Hardware, Inc. Grulke Hardware is now in the 3rd generation, going on the 4th.
